Statement of the High Council for National Reconciliation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr
Sapedar-Kabul: I extend my well-wishings on the arrival of auspicious Eid al-Fitr to the free, gallant, and proud nation of Afghanistan. May Allah swt accept all our acts of worship, good deeds, and fasting in this holy month of Ramadan, forgive our shortcomings and sins, and shower his mercy upon us.
Ramadan this year was marked by tragic and inhumane attacks by criminal terrorists in Kabul, Logar, and a number of other provinces. The current cruel and imposed war has saddened and distressed the people of Afghanistan. Unfortunately, the armed opposition is still pursuing its political goals through violence, terrorism, and killing.
With the arrival of Eid al-Fitr, we once again raise the voice of peace of the Afghan people and call on the Taliban to stop the war and use the opportunity to establish peace and stability in the country. War and killing are not the solution.
With the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, there is no excuse for the continuation of war and violence, and its continuation means a clear enmity with the progress, prosperity, and dignity of Afghanistan.
On the eve of Eid al-Fitr, we stand with the families of the martyrs of the security and defense forces, defenseless and innocent civilians, and especially the victims of the recent bloody and shocking incidents in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood of Kabul and Logar province.
on the auspicious eve of Eid al-Fitr, I offer my heartfelt wishes for health and happiness to each and every one of my dear compatriots.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah
Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation
